Blueberry Brain Bowl

You will often see me using blueberries in recipes, they are brain boosting beauties! This is because their purple skins provide us with a powerful type of anti-oxidant called OPC (Oligomeric Proanthocyanidans). Studies show that incorporating blueberries in our diets helps to support working memory! Therefore, for my own neurodivergent family, and those I work with, it is a weekly essential. Keep organic bags of these fruits in the freezer to add to smoothies or in this bowl version which many kids and teens prefer.

Ingredients for the nutribullet or blender

Heaped cup of frozen blueberries

1 frozen banana

Tablespoon of shelled hemp seeds (store in the fridge)

1 avocado (kids won’t taste this!)

Cup of cashew milk - add more as needed

I think this goes so well with my banana and tahini granola! If you prefer this as a smoothie it will make two tumbler glasses or four kids cups, when you add more milk.
